9-month deep-dive programme | Includes Byron Bay residential weekend
Whether you're a wellness practitioner looking to expand your offering, a therapist seeking more effective tools for your clients, or someone called to a new career in healing — this training was designed for you.Â
Cannabis is the only psychedelic in Australia that is legal by prescription, does not require a psychiatrist to supervise, and is accessible to your clients at a fraction of the cost of psilocybin or MDMA therapy. In this 9-month certification, you will learn to facilitate safe, legal, and deeply transformative cannabis psychedelic experiences — in your own practice or dedicated space.
Watch the short introduction below to see what this training is about.
Why Cannabis — and Why Now
Psilocybin therapy costs patients $8,000 to $40,000 in Australia and requires a psychiatrist. MDMA therapy remains unavailable outside clinical trials. Ayahuasca ceremonies are illegal.
Cannabis psychedelic therapy is legal today, available by prescription, and costs your clients a fraction of any alternative. It does not require a psychiatrist to supervise. You can offer it in your own practice.
This is the only legal psychedelic modality in Australia that a wellness practitioner — not just a psychiatrist — can facilitate. And right now, very few people are trained to do it.
What You Get in This Training
You will be trained by more than 20 world-class faculty across psychiatry, psychology, pharmacology, law, neuroscience, somatic practice, and cannabis science. These are not theoretical lecturers — they are practising clinicians, researchers, and facilitators who work with patients and clients.
The certification includes a residential weekend at a 2 acre private rainforest healing retreat in Byron Bay — owned by founder and cannabis expert Paul Benhaim. This is where you will experience the protocol yourself, practise facilitation with peers, and connect with your cohort in person.
What You Will Learn
This is not a weekend workshop or a self-paced video library. It is a structured 9-month programme that takes you from foundational knowledge to confident, safe practice — whether you plan to facilitate sessions in your own space or integrate cannabis psychedelic techniques into an existing practice.
Over nine modules, you will learn how to conduct a thorough client intake and assess readiness. You will understand the pharmacology of cannabis — how different strains, terpene profiles, and delivery methods create different therapeutic outcomes. You will study the neuroscience of psychedelic states and how cannabis interacts with the endocannabinoid system to facilitate neuroplasticity and healing.
You will be trained in session facilitation — how to hold space, guide a client through a psychedelic experience, and respond skilfully if a session becomes challenging. You will learn integration techniques that help clients carry their insights into lasting change. And you will cover the practical side that other trainings ignore: the legal framework in Australia, ethical boundaries, how to set up your practice, and how to build a sustainable client base.
By the end, you will have the skills, the certification, and the confidence to offer something very few practitioners in Australia can offer today.
Why This Cannabis Psychedelic Assisted Training?
Most psychedelic therapy trainings in Australia prepare you for modalities your clients cannot realistically access. Psilocybin therapy requires a psychiatrist, costs patients between $8,000 and $40,000, and has treated fewer than 100 people since it became legal. MDMA therapy remains confined to clinical trials. The training may be excellent — but the pathway to actually practising is narrow, expensive, and dependent on specialists most practitioners cannot become.
Cannabis psychedelic facilitation is different. Your clients can obtain a prescription from any authorised doctor. Sessions do not require a psychiatrist to be present. The cost to your clients is hundreds of dollars, not tens of thousands. And you — whether you are a yoga teacher, a breathwork facilitator, a counsellor, or someone building a new career in healing — can legally facilitate these experiences in your own practice or dedicated space.
This is not a theoretical credential. It is a practical one. You will graduate ready to work with real clients, in a field where demand is growing and very few facilitators are trained.
Safety Is Not Optional — It Is the Foundation
A cannabis psychedelic experience can be profoundly healing. It can also be destabilising if facilitated without proper training. The difference between a transformative session and a harmful one comes down to the knowledge, skill, and preparation of the facilitator.
This course was built on that principle. You will learn which cannabis formulations are appropriate for therapeutic use and why — including why higher THC is not better, why terpene profiles matter more than potency, and how to match the right product to the right client. You will learn how to create physical and psychological safety before, during, and after a session. And you will learn what to do when a session does not go as expected — because in real practice, that happens, and your response in that moment is what defines you as a facilitator.
This curriculum draws on decades of clinical practice, published research, and the lived experience of over 20 faculty members who work across psychiatry, psychology, pharmacology, neuroscience, law, and cannabis science. What took years of study across multiple disciplines has been structured into a single, accessible programme — so you can learn it in nine months and begin practising with confidence.
Ancient Practice, Modern Science
Cannabis has been used as a psychedelic for thousands of years. The Scythians conducted cannabis ceremonies recorded by Herodotus in the fifth century BC. Ancient Chinese, Indian, and Egyptian traditions all documented its use for healing and expanded states of consciousness. This is not a new idea — it is one of the oldest therapeutic practices in human history, returning now with the benefit of modern research.
What is new is how we apply it. This training combines that historical foundation with contemporary neuroscience, clinical pharmacology, and a multisensory facilitation protocol developed over years of practice. You will learn how to use vibroacoustic therapy, specific light frequencies, sound, and breathwork alongside cannabis to deepen and guide the psychedelic experience — techniques grounded in published research on neuroplasticity and sensory processing.
The result is a method that is neither purely traditional nor purely clinical. It draws from both — and it works.
Designed for Practice, Not Just Theory
Many psychedelic trainings leave graduates with knowledge but not confidence. You understand the science but have never sat with a real client. You know the theory but freeze when a session takes an unexpected turn.
This programme is structured differently. The protocol you will learn has been refined to focus on what actually matters in the room: client safety, presence, and the conditions for deep healing. You will practise facilitation techniques throughout the course — not just study them — so that by the time you sit with your first client, the skills feel natural.
There is something else this training offers that is rarely spoken about. The process of learning to hold space for others will change you. You will work with breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic practices as part of the curriculum — not as optional extras, but as core elements of your development. Our graduates consistently tell us that the course was as transformative for them personally as it is for the clients they now serve.
A Therapy Your Clients Can Actually Afford
Psilocybin therapy in Australia costs patients between $8,000 and $40,000 per programme. Fewer than 100 people accessed it in the first 18 months after legalisation. MDMA therapy remains unavailable outside clinical trials. These are real therapies with real potential — but for the vast majority of Australians seeking psychedelic healing, they are out of reach.
A cannabis psychedelic session costs a fraction of that. Your clients can access it within days through a standard cannabis prescription, without a psychiatrist, and without a waiting list. This is not a theoretical market — it is people in your community who are looking for this right now and cannot find a trained facilitator.
When you graduate from this programme, you will be one of the very few people in Australia qualified to offer legal psychedelic therapy at a price your clients can genuinely afford. That is a practice worth building.

Your Lead Trainer
Paul Benhaim has worked with cannabis professionally for over thirty years. He founded Hemp Foods Australia — the largest hemp food company in the Southern Hemisphere — and co-founded Elixinol Global, which he took public on the Australian Securities Exchange. He is the author of 18 books on cannabis, hemp, and psychedelic practice. He currently serves as chairman of The Hemp Plastic Company, a US-based biocomposites manufacturer with 34 patents.
Paul's work in cannabis psychedelics grew from decades of experience with the plant and a personal practice that began at seventeen. After recognising the profound therapeutic potential of cannabis when used with psychedelic intention, he developed the facilitation protocol taught in this course — drawing on clinical research, traditional practice, and his own extensive experience across multiple psychedelic modalities.
He facilitates cannabis psychedelic sessions at his private retreat in the Byron Shire — a 2 acre rainforest property with orchards, natural pool and many healing technologies. Every student in this programme will train with Paul directly during the Byron Bay residential weekend.
This is not a course designed by a committee and delivered by contractors. It was built by someone who has spent a lifetime with this plant and who still sits with clients every week.

What is a Cannabis Psychedelic Experience?
What Could This Look Like as a Practice?
Every graduate's situation is different. Some will add cannabis psychedelic facilitation to an existing therapy or wellness practice. Others will build a dedicated practice from the ground up. Here is what the economics can look like at a modest, realistic level.
If you facilitated just two sessions per week — one solo client at $795 and one duo at $695 per person — across 46 working weeks per year, that would generate approximately $83,000 in annual revenue before expenses. Two sessions per week is one working day. The rest of your week remains yours.
If you built to four or five sessions per week — still well below full capacity — the numbers scale accordingly. But revenue is only one part of the picture. Your setup costs are low (a quiet, comfortable space, a quality vaporiser, sound equipment, and your training), your overheads are minimal, and there is no requirement for expensive clinic premises or specialist supervision.
The more important point: this is an emerging field with very few trained facilitators in Australia. Demand for legal, affordable psychedelic therapy is growing while supply remains extremely limited. Graduates who establish themselves now are building a practice in a market with almost no competition.
This training includes a dedicated Business Planning Module to help you map out your own scenario — including realistic financial projections, client acquisition strategies, and practice setup guidance.
There are currently very few certified cannabis psychedelic facilitators in Australia. Every month you wait is a month someone else is building their practice in your area.

You will hold a Cannabis Psychedelic Facilitator Certification — one of the very few in Australia. You will have the practical skills to conduct safe, legal, and effective cannabis psychedelic sessions with real clients. You will understand the pharmacology, the neuroscience, and the legal framework well enough to speak about your work with confidence to anyone — clients, colleagues, or regulators.
You will be a member of the Cannabis Psychedelic Practitioners Association, with access to a professional referral network and a listing that connects you with potential clients in your area. You will have a business plan, promotional materials, and a clear pathway to generating income from your first month of practice.
And you will have experienced the protocol yourself — not as an observer, but as a participant — at a retreat that most people only see on television. That experience will inform every session you ever facilitate.
This is not a certificate you frame and forget. It is the beginning of a practice.

What people are saying about working with Paul in the Cannabis Experience
Charlotte B
I am a psychotherapist interested in the healing potentials of psychoactive plants. I recently experienced a psychedelic cannabis session. My experiences with other psychedelics have been powerful and insightful, but often harsh on my nervous system and physical body. I had some preconceived ideas around cannabis and associated it with feeling stoned and spacey. This was nothing like that, it was clear and vibrant with visuals that guided me through my intentions. I had agency to keep in certain visuals or move out as needed. This therapeutic psychedelic is something I think could have great value for many mental health diagnosis but also for anyone wanting to take a deeper look into their own inner world.
Richard G
I am an experienced and regular cannabis smoker, and never expected this. Wow, what an incredible journey! This psychedelic cannabis experience took me on an internal adventure like no other. The vibrant colors and enhanced sensory perception made me feel like I was exploring a whole new drug. It sparked some deep introspection and left me with new level of creativity and a profound sense of connection to others in my life. Truly an unforgettable and enlightening experience! I would even love to try it with the cannabis one day as the experience is so well put together – well done Paul. That sound track is amazing.

Eva S
My psychedelic journey provided me with such deep healing. I found I was able to shine the light on some of my shadows, to face my fears, to look at deep seated trauma still in my body, and to become aware of some unconscious patterns that were playing out in my life. I walked away from the experience feeling empowered, strong, brave, lighter, and with a deeper sense of trust in myself, others and life at large. I am so grateful for Paul’s space holding, and to this wonderful plant medicine.
Edward L
Paul facilitates a powerful experience for deep and profound transformation. His years of experience with this master plant are evident in the way he confidently holds the space and guides you through each step of the process. I experienced some strong shifts in my body and mind as I went through the process and came out feeling grounded and relaxed. His after care is gentle and present, I can tell he’s very passionate about this work. I highly recommend Paul
Casey B
How lucky I feel to have had the opportunity to sit in ceremony with Paul. I found such safety in this experience, as I was given detailed information prior to the journey and in the ceremony. My personal history made me a little frightened before sitting, as my mind loves to control. I was comforted throughout, and had a really beautiful experience. I received insights and understandings for myself. I must also say that the musical journey was sensational! I would recommend this to all that feel called.
Samantha
I found the Cannabis Psychedelic Journey quite restorative and healing. It was a gentle yet highly effective experience. I had a deep connection to my body and could feel how it held what I no longer needed. Since the journey, I have felt a sense of peace, openness and expansiveness. It was very gentle on my nervous system, and I developed a newfound openness.
Masih G
Paul was very professional, kind and balanced in his guidance of this journey. I would recommend it, when one is wanting a safe and yet powerful experience.
Jane F
Wow! Life changing. I did not expect such an experience with cannabis. This clearly intentional process allowed me to journey within myself in a supported and safe way. This is a new way to use my cannabis medicine that no doctor has ever shared. Highly recommend.

How This Training Compares
There are several psychedelic therapy trainings available in Australia. Each has its merits. Here is an honest look at where this programme sits and why it may be the right choice for you.
Most Australian psychedelic trainings — including Mind Medicine Australia's CPAT, the Psychedelic Institute Australia, and Wild Mind Institute — focus on psilocybin and MDMA-assisted therapy. These are valuable credentials. However, psilocybin and MDMA sessions in Australia require a psychiatrist to supervise, cost patients $8,000 to $40,000, and remain extremely difficult to access. If you are a wellness practitioner rather than a psychiatrist, you may complete those trainings and still find no clear pathway to practise.
Cannabis psychedelic facilitation does not have that barrier. You do not need to be a psychiatrist. Your clients do not need to wait months or pay tens of thousands of dollars. You can facilitate sessions legally, independently, and affordably — starting from the month you graduate.
The only other cannabis-specific training in Australia is offered by Psychegetics Academy in Sydney, priced at $5,000 to $5,500. This programme differs in several ways: it is a comprehensive 9-month deep-dive rather than a shorter format, it is taught by over 20 world-class faculty across multiple disciplines, it includes a residential weekend at a private Byron Bay retreat, it provides membership to the Cannabis Psychedelic Practitioners Association with a professional referral network, and it is led by a founder with over 30 years of professional cannabis experience, 18 published books, and a track record that includes an ASX-listed company.
The enrolment price of $4,980 places this programme below every competitor listed above except Wild Mind — while offering significantly more depth, faculty access, and professional infrastructure.
